FAQ's

Q. Does the Peabody hotel have a free shuttle to and from the Little Rock Airport?

A. Yes, it does. But you do need to make prior arrangements and let them know when you are arriving. Call the Peabody Guest Services Desk at 501-906-4000 to make arrangements.

Q. I've heard this conference will be "green." What exactly does that mean?

A. We're trying to save a few trees this year, so all the handout material that is supplied by the presenters will be available on this website prior to the meeting. You will be able to download the material prior to your arrival at the meeting for any session you want to attend. All registrants will also receive a CD Rom that contains all the materials turned in by presenters prior to July 2, 2010. After that date, you can still access the handouts on the website. The main program book will be printed in the media type you requested when you registered, and there are some other items you'll receive, but we're hoping to stay as "paper-free and green" as we can this year.

Q. Why don't I see Division Day listed on the daily program?

A. We heard from alot of attendees in the years past that it's sometimes hard to come to the meeting early and miss all that time away from work and family. So new in 2010, we have incorporated what used to be called "Division Day" into the daily conference schedule. Each division has planned some wonderful education sessions, some half-day and some are a full-day. You will see them mentioned in the program as "Division Education Sessions" and they are formatted differently than the regular conference program. Say for instance, you belong to and want to attend the Low Vision Rehabilitation Division programming. On Thursday, July 22, the division has planned a fantastic day of special speakers and topics. While this special programming is being held, there will be no other Low Vision sessions taking place, giving you the opportunity to focus on one division topic session. So make sure you read the program and the daily schedules to view the special Division Education Sessions being held throughout the week.

Q. When is my division holding their business meeting and/or reception?

A. Division meetings and receptions are being held Thursday and Friday evenings. Please refer to the program for the specific division date and time.

Q. I need continuing education credits to certification. How do I get them from this meeting?

A. We have applied for continuing education credit from ACVREP, CRCC and the National Association of Social Workers. In your registration packet, you will find a CE tracking sheet with your name pre-printed on it. Make sure you carry this tracking sheet with you as you will need to record a special code at the conclusion of each session you attend. When you arrive in a session, the moderator will be passing around a sign in sheet and speaker evaluations. You will need to make sure you sign in, take an evaluation sheet  and then at the end of the session, record the closing code on your personal tracking sheet. You are welcome to complete the speaker evaluation at the conclusion of the session you are attending or at the end of the conference. After the conclusion of the conference, make sure you turn in your tracking sheet and evaluations so that AER can record the number of CE credits you attended and then send you a transcript of CE hours within 6-8 of the conclusion of the conference.

Q. I would like to host a special reception for my current and past students from my University Program...can I do that?

A. Absolutely! AER has arranged some special event packages that you can click here to view and choose from.

Click here to download the request form and send it back to the AER Office. We will do whatever we can to make sure you have a fun evening catching up with old friends and making new friends!
