How Much Does AER Really Give Away Each Year?
by Martha Simmons, Chair, AER Scholarship Committee
AER Report - Fall 2005
Do you know the answer to the question above, because we don’t. The AER Scholarship Committee would like to be able to report in up-coming issues of AER Report and elsewhere about how much we give away each year in scholarships and stipends, but we need help from the Chapters and Divisions to do that. We know that a lot of you are providing monetary awards to members and prospective members. We just don’t know what type and the value of them. We are asking that you please let us know what kind of awards your Chapter or Division provides to persons pursuing degrees, certification, CEUs, etc., in the field of blindness and visual impairment. It may be that your help goes to persons who are blind or visually impaired themselves and not necessarily to those pursuing a career in blindness field. In either case, we just want to know about any help that you are providing so that we can come up with a rough estimate of the total amount of money available every year from AER. Please let us know what you are doing by completing this form, and sending it to us by November 15, 2005. Thank you for your continued support!
Please complete and return to the address below. Please photocopy this form as needed. Thank you.
