Campbell County School District in Gillette, Wyoming is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our special education team. This role facilitates the opportunity of students with visual impairments to have equal access to their education. You will provide specialized instruction, perform critical assessments, and act as a primary advocate and consultant for students ranging from Kindergarten through graduation through the delivery of instruction across all academic areas, including the Expanded Core Curriculum and Unified English Braille. As a central member of the special education team, you will conduct essential evaluations such as Functional Vision Assessments (FVA) and Learning Media Assessments (LMA) to determine the most effective instructional strategies and assistive technology for each student's unique needs.

A strong preference will be given to candidates with specific experience or training in Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI), as you will develop and implement individualized IEPs that address complex neurological visual needs. Success in this position requires a high level of collaboration and consultation with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to create an inclusive and accessible learning environment. By bridging the gap between medical vision findings and classroom application, you will empower students with visual impairments to achieve academic independence and long-term success.

Campbell County is located in Northeastern Wyoming, about an hour away from Devils Tower to the east and the Bighorn Mountains to the west. The Campbell County School District has 24 schools, 14 elementary schools, and two junior high schools and 2 high schools in Gillette. There are 8,200 students in the district with nearly 1,200 students receiving IEP services.
