Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the AER Education Curriculum Interest Group is to support and engage educators who work directly with students with visual impairments. This Division focuses on sharing instructional strategies and tools to support the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC). Through collaboration, professional learning, and practical problem‑solving, the Division aims to enhance instructional practice and student access to learning, in accordance with AER bylaws.

Goal 1: Share practical and field‑based resources related to the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC)
Goal 2: Strengthen implementation and application of the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) across the lifespan of learners with visual impairments
Goal 3: Build and sustain a professional community for shared practice
Goal 4: Promote ongoing professional learning for professionals working with learners with visual impairments
Goal 5: Enhance student independence and access to learning
