Education Program Consultant – Vision Outreach Services

Job Description 

This position supports the needs of Infants, Toddlers, Children and Adults in Wyoming who are Blind or have low vision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. Provide consultative support and program guidance to schools, preschools, and other agencies serving individuals who are blind or have low vision.
  • Plan, conduct, and facilitate workshops, student-specific technical assistance, conferences, and in-service trainings related to the needs of individuals who are blind/low vision.
  • Oversee regional operations of federal and state programs for people who are blind/low vision.
  • Facilitate, through direct service, the attainment of compensatory skills, job skills, assistive technology use, and independent living skills for adults who are blind/low vision.
  • Assess needs for and provide access to adaptive equipment.
  • Assist in the general supervision responsibilities of the WDE, as outlined in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, including monitoring, technical assistance, professional development, and annual grant reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Education)

Experience:

1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Education Program Specialist.

OR

Education Experience Substitution:

4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Education Program Specialist.

Salary

$6,171.35-$6,857.05 Monthly
