Orientation and Mobility Specialist

Job Description 

The Campbell County School District is seeking a certified Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist to provide vital travel and independence training for students with visual impairments in Gillette, Wyoming. This role focuses on teaching students the sensory and motor skills necessary to navigate their school, home, and community environments safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for conducting specialized O&M evaluations, determining appropriate mobility devices—such as long canes or electronic travel aids—and providing direct instruction in street crossing, public transportation use, and spatial awareness.

Campbell County is located in Northeastern Wyoming, about an hour away from Devils Tower to the east and the Bighorn Mountains to the west. The community of Gillette has a community college and has a number of events and celebrations throughout the year to meet the many interests of the people of Gillette and its surrounding area.  Additionally, the area boasts a wide variety of recreational activities that include boating, camping, backpacking, fishing, hunting and skiing.

Qualifications

  • Possess all certificates required for the State of Wyoming.

Salary

Pending experience and education, the salary ranges from base of $56,000 (BA) - $93,200 (DR)
