Access and Technology Division

The Access and Technology division builds community to promote collective action towards low vision and non-visual accessibility of information, media, digital tools, and computing technology. We exchange resources to support the professional development of division members. Our community of practice supports and empowers members in providing innovative assistive technology and accessibility solutions that foster independence, inclusion, and equity in education, employment, and daily life.

NRTC AT in the Workplace Study

The NRTC is pleased to share its new Assistive Technology-Related Resources webpage, which brings together resources developed through our AT in the Workplace Study. The page includes tools to support AT users, instructors, vocational rehabilitation professionals, and others interested in expanding their AT knowledge.

Technology is constantly changing, and learning doesn’t stop when formal AT training ends. That’s why we’ve created the Checklist for Teaching Exploration and Troubleshooting, which can help AT instructors equip students with the skills and resources needed to independently learn, troubleshoot, and stay current with AT. The checklist can be customized for individual students and is one of many resources available on the new webpage.
