AER is building a new structure of professional divisions and interest groups designed to better reflect today’s professions, strengthen professional identity, and create more meaningful opportunities for connection and engagement.
This work is being led by AER members. Your input will determine what these groups become.
What is Changing
Following the approval of updated bylaws, AER has transitioned from the previous division and district structure to a new model:
- Professional Divisions aligned to specific credentialed or defined areas of practice
- Interest Groups organized around shared interests, roles, or emerging topics
This new structure is designed to support long-term sustainability, clearer professional pathways, and stronger member engagement.
Your Role
This is a member-driven process.
Each proposed group is currently gathering input and support through surveys. These surveys serve as the formal step in establishing each division or interest group.
By completing a survey, you are helping determine which groups are formed and how they take shape.
How to Participate

- Open to all members
- No limit to how many you may join
- Indicate your interest in participating
Professional Divisions
- Designed for specific professional roles or credentials
- Require members to meet defined criteria
- By completing the survey, you are confirming that you meet the proposed membership criteria
