Building on Patterns
About the study
My name is Leslie Borton. I am a doctoral candidate in the Special Education Department at the University of South Carolina. I am conducting a research study as part of the requirements of my degree in Special Education Leadership, and I would like to invite you to participate.
I am studying teachers of students with visual impairments (TVIs) experiences with Building on Patterns. If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete some survey questions.
Who should participate?
If you have used Building on Patterns in any capacity since fall 2024, please consider participating. Please see the link to the survey and the invitation below. Also, if you know someone who uses Building on Patterns and you think they may be interested in participating in this survey, please send them the link. Thank you for your support!
What will happen if I choose to participate?
You will be asked questions about how you use Building on Patterns. You may feel uncomfortable answering some of the questions. You do not have to answer any questions that you do not wish to answer.
Participation is anonymous, which means no one will be able to link your responses back to you. So, please do not place your name or other identifying information on any of the study materials.
Questions?
I am happy to answer any questions you have about the study. You may contact me at 864-630-2215 or [email protected] or my faculty advisor, Mitchell Yell at [email protected].
Thank you for your consideration. If you would like to participate, please open the attached survey link below and begin completing the questions. When you are done, please exit the survey to have your answers recorded (or) contact me at the number listed below to discuss participating.
If you have concerns about your rights as a research subject, please contact the University of South Carolina’s Office of Research Compliance (803) 777-6670.
