Factors Influencing Perceived Usability and Cognitive Load of Screen Reader Use among Adults with Visual Impairments during Web-Based Tasks
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between perceived usability and cognitive workload experienced by adults with visual impairments while using screen readers to complete web-based tasks. Approximately 85–150 participants will be enrolled.
Inclusion Criteria:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Have a visual impairment.
Reside in the United States of America
Use a screen reader to access web-based content.
Procedures:
If you agree to participate, you will complete an electronic informed consent, demographic questionnaire, several web-based tasks using your screen reader, the System Usability Scale (SUS), and the NASA Task Load Index (NASA‑TLX). Participation will take approximately 20–30 minutes.
