Rapid Rectangle Flashing Beacons and How They Impact Street Crossing Instruction
Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) are being installed at many mid-block crossings to enhance pedestrian visibility and to increase driver awareness at uncontrolled, marked crosswalks. This presentation will discuss the yielding research, risk assessment, consumer understanding of these devices and O&M issues and techniques in teaching their use.
