AER Resolutions
AER resolutions
Resolutions are one of the primary ways AER members shape the direction of the Association and the profession. Through the resolutions process, members bring forward ideas, concerns, and priorities that guide advocacy, professional practice, and organizational focus.
All members are encouraged to participate by submitting resolutions, reviewing proposals, engaging in discussion, and voting.
2026 Resolution Status
Resolution 2026-001, Advocacy for Guidelines and Considerations for the Provision of Virtual Specially Designed Instruction from TSVIs and COMS for K-12 Students with Visual Impairments, was presented at the AER General Business Meeting on July 31, 2026.
During the Business Meeting, members considered several amendments to the resolution, four of which were adopted. The Resolutions Committee is currently finalizing the resolution to incorporate the amendments approved by the membership.

Once the amended resolution has been finalized, AER will post the final version on this page and notify members when electronic voting opens. Members will be provided the full voting period originally intended for consideration of the resolution.
